SMEs refusing to comply with auto-enrolment

32% of small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) have no intention of complying with the forthcoming auto-enrolment legislation on pensions.

Conducted on behalf of employee benefits adviser, Secondsight, by Clarity Surveys, the research found that 66% of SMEs have little or no knowledge of the legislation, which it highlights is in stark contrast to research by The Pensions Regulator (TPR) in August 2013, which indicated that ’employers are beginning to recognise the need to allow time to plan for automatic enrolment’.
