My profile

In the early stages I will be more interested in you, rather than your financial affairs. I will want to find out what money means to you and what you want out of life, to understand your values and highlight events in your future you will need to plan for financially.

Our objective will be to make your plans as simple as possible to manage, so you can get on with living your life, rather than be preoccupied with money. This should help you achieve a more balanced lifestyle and a greater sense of certainty and control.

The tools we use will vary depending on your circumstances. For instance, it might help to look more closely at the money you need on a day-to-day basis through a cash-flow forecasting tool or perhaps taking a look at your investment portfolio in more depth. Either way, we will end up with a financial roadmap designed to give you the flexibility and the peace of mind to look to the future with confidence.

The value of your investment can go down as well as up and you may not get back the full amount invested. The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate taxation and trust advice.

My approach is designed with the aim of making your money work for you. I believe, proper financial planning is essential to many of the important objectives in life; these could include career goals, financial independence, retirement, the decision to have children or more tangible asset related decisions such as buying a home or increasing a property or investment portfolio.

I therefore believe that finding the right products is secondary to defining the right objectives. I will work closely with you to identify the key financial events in your life and then work toward a goal of making sure you will have the funds available when they are needed. Typically, this would involve:

  • building a well diversified investment portfolio;
  • utilising a blend of complementary tax wrappers and products;
  • tax planning;
  • risk management;
  • cash management; and
  • a review / oversight of existing arrangements.

T.F.M. Pryor – Manuscripts Consultants

“I first sought your advice six or so years ago, when for the first time in my life I had sufficient sums to invest, not a huge sum by any means but enough to require some management. After several extremely thorough and helpful discussions with you, we agreed on what was not an easy brief – that you’d keep my investment as safe as could be, while allowing it to take advantage of any upturn in the market. This I think is called (to use technical jargon) having your cake and eating it. But this is just what you managed! I find your advice to be not only jargon-free, but down-to-earth and while whatever decision finally made is, of course, down to me, you are not afraid to offer advice. Long may you flourish!”

Carl Barwick – Director, Taxation Consulting

“I put Leigh in charge of my pension planning in 2005 and have certainly not regretted the decision. In a field increasingly complicated by complex and ever-changing legislation, I have found myself increasingly reliant on Leigh’s advice, which is always lucid, concise and not couched in technical terms that laymen like myself find difficult to understand. The information Leigh provides is up-to-date and always clear, so when I have questions, I know they will be answered properly. This takes the pain out of pension planning and I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone serious about building an adequate fund for their retirement.”

Bill Wolfenden – Retired

“Leigh has been my financial adviser since 2005. Throughout that period, he has regularly reviewed my portfolio with me to determine that it meets my current requirements. Recent world market conditions have been difficult but Leigh has come up with suggestions to counter them and ensure that my investments have the best growth potential, whilst always bearing in mind my specific risk profile. He will never pretend to have all the answers, but has politely steered me away from potentially disastrous investments I may have made without his input. Leigh is a personable adviser who manages through discussion and attention to his clients’ needs.”

Vivek Singh – Cinnamon Club

“I wanted to write and thank you for your time and help in our recent discussions. You took the time to understand my point of view, taking on board all of my concerns, providing personalised solutions within my agreed budget. At no time did I feel under pressure and you made me feel at ease as the process evolved. I am aware that we are only now entering into what I hope to be a long and prosperous relationship for the both of us, but thank you for the work you have done so far. Please feel free to share my experience with anyone else and needless to say, I would be more than happy to act as a reference for you, should the occasion arise. Thank you once again.”

Frances Halahan – Museum Consultant

“I am writing to thank you for your help and advice over the past few years. I very much appreciate your thorough approach, the care you take to ensure I understand our discussions and your advice on handling my finances. Recently, I have been impressed with how you promptly assessed my losses at the beginning of the recession, which enabled me to recover surprisingly quickly. I know that I am financially in a much better condition than I would be if left to my own devices and I appreciate your guidance. You have demonstrated the pros and cons of particular actions thoroughly and I have always found you to be trustworthy and honest. I would recommend your services without hesitation and am very happy for you to use this letter as a reference if needed.”

Neil Allen – Media360

“I always feel that Leigh has an in-depth knowledge of the financial markets which is extremely reassuring during the current financial chaos. He shows invention in searching for what is best for me as a client. Extremely trustworthy and honest, he has always been upfront with me regards the state of my financial investments. Because of Leigh’s business integrity, it has been easy providing Leigh with a recommendation.”

Hilary Osmend – Business Consultant

“Leigh has a clear investment strategy with his customers’ needs at its centre. He also has the rare knack of explaining things in plain English rather than ‘investment-speak’.”

Andrew Nash – Scientist

“A short note to express our appreciation for the guidance you have given. Fifteen years ago I was mis-sold a policy which was supposed to cover my endowment mortgage and it proceeded to perform very badly. The letter you helped prepare, identifying the reasons we believed the advice given at the time was incorrect, eventually resulted in a substantial settlement being agreed. The importance of having someone look at the financial picture beyond mortgage and pensions was demonstrated when my health deteriorated earlier this year, during which time, my wife took time off work to look after me. The health insurance we took out a few years back meant that her loss of income was covered. I would not hesitate in recommending you.”

Pam Bond – Medical Practice Manager

“I have known Leigh for the past ten years. He has always given me good, sound advice regarding my finances. He responds to my requests very promptly and if we need to meet, he arranges to do so without delay. He has made the (sometimes incomprehensible) world of finance easy for me to understand and I feel confident that my pension pot is safe under his guidance. His manner is always very professional; he is extremely well turned out and conducts himself in an utterly courteous fashion. I have no hesitation in recommending his services.”
